There is an art form in creating a stunning bespoke wedding cake, beautiful miniature individually decorated cakes adorned with sugar ribbons and bows, all of which should be the centrepiece of any truly memorable occasion. About Us
Sylvia's Kitchen based in Sussex has been borne from a childhood interest in the art of sugarcraft and specialist making, thanks to my Mum Sylvia. Whilst she was creating fabulous wedding cakes in her farmhouse kitchen, I would be practising my piping across the kitchen table. After taking a course in sugarcraft to enhance the skills my Mum had taught me I went on to produce my own, my sisters and my friends wedding cakes. Now that Sylvia's Kitchen is a professional business, others are able to share in the pleasure of having a unique and bespoke cake tailored to their personal requirements. Whether it is a wedding cake requiring precise colour and themed co-ordination, simplistic and stylish, floral and formal, or a celebration cake, with my creativity and artistic eye I can help you "bring to edible life" the ideas you may already have. All floral decorations are carefully hand crafted. Celebration cakes should not only look fabulous, they should taste fabulous too! I use the best ingredients available (including chicken, duck and goose eggs from my sister's poultry reared at my Dad and Brother's award winning local organic farm - goose eggs make fantastic sponges!). Your cake, whether fruit, plain or chocolate will be fresh and moist, which I consider as important as the appearance. Special dietary requirements can be catered for.
